Accountant – ERP Implementation & Financial Operations

We are looking for a meticulous Accountant to join our Accounting Team during a phased rollout of our IFS ERP system. In this Hybrid role, you will collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller to seamlessly integrate accounting considerations across all operational areas. Initially, your focus will be on IFS ERP-related tasks, but you will also support additional accounting functions as needed. Demonstrated experience with IFS ERP is essential for success in this position. Although the position is located in Detroit there will be some travel to Ohio required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the ERP implementation process by supporting finance-related system setup, data validation, and process improvements.
  • Act as a key resource for the finance team, helping to address accounting requirements and collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the ERP system to support financial reporting, transaction processing, and system functionality.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to ERP end users, troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, IT, and Engineering, to ensure system solutions align with operational needs.
  • Perform data validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data transferred to the new system.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to streamlining financial workflows.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
  • 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience, including ERP system implementation (IFS experience required).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience with multi-currency, multi-site, and multi-entity ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate and train others.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while effectively coordinating with team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
