Position Summary:

The Plant Maintenance Technician Lead completes responsibilities that include coordinating Reactive, Preventive, and Predictive Maintenance of Production Equipment on assigned shift. This includes overseeing day to day activities within Maintenance Department, assigning tasks to responsible technicians, and performing work quality and safety audits. “Safety” is the underlying principle that must govern this charter.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Production Equipment Reactive, Preventive, and Predictive Maintenance

• Responsible for managing all reactive maintenance activity on the assigned shift. This includes Work Order generation and dispatching technicians for maintenance requests.

• Responsible for the coordination and completion of all Preventive and Predictive work orders generated by MQ1. Goal is 92 % completion.

• Responsible for communicating potential failures discovered performing PM activity and scheduling the repair activity.

• Manage the equipment specific lock out –tag out program to ensure compliance.

New Equipment Maintenance and Supplies

• Assist in the development, procurement, installation, and evaluation of new production equipment.

• Responsible for generating BOM for new equipment installs and coordinating purchases with the MRO Buyer (Utilities, process equipment installs, and special needs).

• Coordinate with other shift leads to carry out equipment install within given timelines.

Tooling Maintenance

• Assist with tooling Asset Identification and tagging program (COT).

• Assist Engineering with tooling modifications when necessary.

• Management of FIP tooling preventive maintenance program through MQ1.

Technician Management

• Perform annual performance reviews with assigned technicians.

• Provide coaching and counseling when necessary to Technicians.

• Perform Safety and work quality audits on a regular basis.

• Identify individual training needs.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• The ideal candidate has experience of at least (5) five years in maintenance and facility maintenance, preferably in the automotive industry.

• The individual must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong computer skills (Excel and Databases).

Education:

• The Plant Maintenance Lead position does not require any specific formal education.

• A solid background in building and equipment maintenance is required. Specific training to improve job skills will be discussed during each performance review.
